Here are a couple of mounts that I just got done.  The pair of green-winged teal are for Dillon E.  I decided to put the hen with her back to the wall to add a little more action and contrast to the mount.

Week of 17 February 2013

This week I will be mounting a blue-phase snow goose for Cliff P. and a deer head for Joe W. I will also be doing the finishing details on some of the mounts completed in the past few weeks, as well as, doing the prep work for next weeks mounts.

13 February 2013

Well, my plans changed a little this week.  I haven’t received some of the supplies that I need to mount the 2 green-winged teal for Dillon E., so I will be mounting them next week.  So, I took this time to start altering a coyote form.  This form was originally in a straight walking pose with its neck straight out and its head low to the ground.  To get the desired pose, I removed a 6 inch wide section in the middle of he form and put a hard left hand bend in the body and then poured foam to fill in the gap.  Then I remove the neck and repositioned it and then filled the gap with foam.  This mount is for a local archery shop and the owner wanted to recreate the moment that he harvested this coyote with his bow.  I hope to get this critter mounted in the next few weeks and will post pictures when I do!

Today I mounted this drake hooded merganser in a swimming pose for Stewart G.  In a few weeks, I will add a nice wooden base and some grass made out of wire to give the illusion of moving water!

Week of 10 February 2013

Well, last week went as planned with no surprises.  Hopefully this week will be the same!  I will be mounting a hooded merganser for Stewart G., 2 green-winged teal for Dillion E. and a deer head for Joe W.

6 February 2013

Here are the fruits of my labor for the past 2 days!  A flushing pair of American black ducks for Jim C.  When the birds are dry, I will add some grass to the habitat and they will really look like they are jumping out of the marsh!

4 February 2013

Well, today I fought through the sore throat and stuffy nose and got a beautiful drake mallard mounted for Robert H.  Tomorrow I will be mounting the first of 2 ducks for Jim C.

Week of 3 February 2013

Last week, I only got 3 of the 5 ducks I had scheduled mounted due to my daughter having an ear infection!  So this week I will be mounting the 2 black ducks for Jim C., a drake mallard for Robert H. and a deer head for Eric B. if all goes well.  We will see how it goes, my wife has strep-throat and mine is feeling itchy.

1 February 2013

Here are the 3 ducks that I got mounted this week.  These 3 teal were killed by Michael F’s 2 son’s.  These birds were the young hunters’ first teal, 2 blue-wings and 1 green-wing!

30 January 2013

Here are 2 mounts that were completed this week and are ready for delivery!  The grey fox is for Effie E. and the widgeon pair are for John D.

Week of 27 January 2013

Last week went as planned.  I was able to get everything that I had scheduled done, as well as prepping 2 raccoon hides for tanning and prepping a swan for Rick T.!  I even managed to sleep a little too.  This week I will be putting the finishing touches on most of the mounts that I completed during the last few weeks.  I will also be mounting 3 teal for Michael F. and 2 black ducks for Jim C..  Pictures will be posted as I get them mounted.
